To Whom It May Concern:

We are writing to endorse  ALLAN SPIELMAN, SONNY HUDSON,  RETROFEST and their upcoming Retrofest event to raise funds on the behalf of The Paul Butterfield Fund and Society (PBFS).

We have been watching the ongoing diligence and efforts put forth by Allan Spielman of Retro Fest (www.retro69.net) to his many charitable endeavors for numerous organizations and have been very pleased with Allan’s professionalism, passion and hard work that have been put into orchestrating such events. Allan has graciously stepped forward offering to orchestrate such an event to benefit the Paul Butterfield Fund and Society.

We have given Allan Spielman permission to use our name and collect prizes and/or funds on our behalf for the upcoming RetroFest scheduled to take place on Saturday March 14th 2009--a gathering of local long island blues artists featuring SONNY HUDSON, FRANK LATORRE,  DENNIS NATTER, JIM MORAN ,RUSSELL"HITMAN" ALEXANDER  and TOMMY "T-BONE " MAZZAPELLA.  among others in tribute to the music of Paul Butterfield from 1965 through 1987, and benefiting the Paul Butterfield Fund and Society,     (Saturday March 14 2009 at the Sunset Grill in Seaford, NY.)

50 %  of proceeds  will go to a new local blues harp  program in the  NYC public school system that is being started by SONNY HUDSON , a well known NY  harmonicas and Butterfield protégé.  In the 1930's there were many harmonica "camps" here. It was a way to provide low cost music to Depression era kids. Many famous harmonica players came out of such camps and started harmonica quartets and harmonica orchestras.

Since starting and supporting these types of programs are  one of the things PFFS does, PBFS is allocating half of the event's proceeds to this program .

We greatly appreciate your consideration and support of this event and Retro69 and hope that you will be able to assist SONNY HUDSON  & ALLAN SPIELMAN  in some capacity.  Feel free to contact us directly at 305-304-2226 and/or butterfieldsociety@yahoo.com if you have additional questions or need further information
